Liz and Scott = Married

I would definitely be repeating myself, many times over, if I spoke about the heat on any of the Weddings this summer. I will just say, there was no rain relief, on this day. However, we had brilliant sun. Liz and Scott were fun, as always, with Liz "hamming it up" for the camera. C'mon, she is a natural, and she cracks me up to boot. I can also see why she and Scott are a great pair.

On that note, let's start with Liz's shoes. Blue--love it! I am a shoe freak. Maybe this started as a young child, but I just love shoes, oh and makeup, uh and clothes... I think these things run in my family, but that is another topic. However, I loved the blue and the roses that allowed for me to take this ring shot.

I loved her blusher. She just gave a natural gaze out the window when I grabbed this shot. With her dark hair and curls, I just loved it.

My second shooter, Courtney Apple, took this from above. Love the view of the flow of her dress.

Nothing like a sweet kiss.

Pictures were taken at Elmwood Zoo. They have a beautiful park area.

There is our sweet bride Liz. She was cracking me up all day! I loved that they did not do a cake smash, but she was just so funny about feeding one another cake.

Great way to end a glimpse of their day.

The Wedding of Katie and Adam

This June has been very hot.
The Saturday for Katie and Adam's Wedding did not issue any heat relief, but there was wonderful sun. Believe me, it is much better than rain. As unfortunate as blazing heat can be, Katie definitely looked radiant and focused on the Wedding--not the heat. She had the perfect material for her dress, cut beautifully and designed in such a way that it was not heavy. Smart girl.

Awesome Flowers. Loved the Thistle!

So, Katie married a Scotsman. He's a lucky guy, not only that he found Katie, but that his friends came to the U.S. to be his Bestmen. Of course they would.

I found the Scottish Kilt to be interesting and Adam was wearing his clan's tartan. I was almost embarrassed that my husband just wore a rented tuxedo. These guys looked sharp.

They had a bagpiper not only lead Katie down the aisle, but also to lead he couple and their guests from the ceremony to the reception. It was just a few short blocks away. So different and so cool!

Reception was at the Racquet Club on Locust.

They had the Philly Horn Band play at their Reception. Great band.

Weather, Weather, Weather

I am obsessed. I feel like I have been dating Bill Henley in the am and Hurricane Schwartz in the pm. These June Weddings have had me on edge as if I have been getting married weekend after weekend. It is as if I am studying weather patterns and watching winds and the like around the globe.

But is occurred to me me what I have turned into with this obsession. If we changed the channel from all news all the time to ESPN, NFL Network, etc it is on par with the obsession my husband has with the outcome of the weekend games. What sort of points will be generated for his team?

Then I stop. I think about the nut that sits on the couch or wakes up at the crack of dawn to get all the chores done to he can, sit on the couch to watch football in an attempt to control things that he has no control over. He drives himself out of his mind, and quite frankly, I think this is how he has lost his hair. You did not hear that from me.

In thinking about that I feel a sudden calm. The calm that I had over myself on my Wedding Day because of the beautiful advice given to me by one of my greatest friends, Leigh, "At the end of it all you will have Mike, what does it matter?" And I stopped. Stopped looking out the window at the potential movement of the weather, checking my list to see of things were done at the precise moment that I scheduled for items to be off the list and if the boxes my brother was going to deliver were going to be picked up by 2:45 and dropped off at 3:10--as was clearly stated in his Event Guide that I gave him.

First, as a photographer for a Wedding, I can't help it. I want everything to be spot on, awesome, rocking, perfect. I just have that winning edge, killer attitude, whatever. But honestly, it is all about the Bride and Groom and about their day. Whether it be torrential down pour (check), Blizzard (check), oppressive heat (check), gentle snow (check) or just plain sweet sunshine (check). I have done them all and I can do them again. Just me, the little fly on the wall, dressed for the occasion with my arsenal of lenses!

Now no matter what the weather may bring--I will bring it on! Batteries Charged, Everything cleaned, packed and I am prepared to kill this thing!

Susan + Mark = Married!

For some reason this spring has been alarmingly hot. Hey, the heat, Susan and Mark were fine with. The chance of rain is what was all a buzz at the General Warren Inne in Malvern that Sunday.
Should they have they Wedding Ceremony outside? What if the skies decided to open up? What if her dress got ruined. At one point her family wanted either I or the owner to talk to the Bride. Ha! I laughed, it was her Wedding, no way man. I was a bride before, I know what that role is like. You have fairy tale dreams and if someone tries to dash them--no way!
But look, her dress was gorgeous and the blusher was stunning.
This was all she needed. In the end she was going to wind up with the right man, come rain or shine--or perhaps hail based on what forecast you were following.
So they kept with the plan--an Outdoor Ceremony that was LOVELY! Yes, there were two or three sprinkles and that was it. Later, we actually saw sun.
Oh and yes, they were told to go and "Live Long and Prosper"
With each other, I do not think it will be a problem

Doggie!

The moment you see this dog, you know he is special. He has the sweetest, loving disposition you could ever want.

He loves hanging out with his best friends.

He's got those sweet little puppy dog eyes that just beg you to play or pet him.

Best of all, he is a loving and affectionate little guy. Giving tons and tons of kisses!

Liz + Scott Engagement Shoot!

Liz and Scott's Engagement Shoot had to be rescheduled a few times due to weather. The biggest concern being whether we would be able to see any ducks at the park where we were doing the shoot.
There were so many great things at this park, like this sweet bridge.
I even got them to try something new. However, I found out that I had two comedian on my hands. Like real comedians. They have a show and were seriously funny. After I got them to relax and get to know me, they completely started to have their own creativity.
Scott had the idea of the "Tree Shot". He was cracking me up as the wind was kicking up and blowing dust and pollen everywhere. Have to love this weather. Loving the sun and warmth though.
And so, we had a nice chill shoot. I loved these guys and am SO looking forward to their wedding. One thing is for certain--it is going to be a riot. While Liz is detail oriented, she seems to be relaxed at the same time. When I got married I was walking around with a binder with a constant knot i my stomach. I have never seen a bride so close to a Wedding be so calm and relaxed. You can tell that she and Scott just fit.
